miniature road trip

Howdy again! This week has been packed to the gills, so to speak.
Is that even an expression? I can't think of anything with gills that
"packs". Fish have gills. They don't pack. They might be stuffed, though,
if they ate too much pond scum. Stuffed to the gills? Sure. That.
Anyway, Elliott's birthday is Saturday, so I've been baking like a fiend.
School started Monday -- I'll post soon on how summer went --
and Adrienne's here from Michigan (yay!). Busy & wonderful days these are.

Sue I love the collages that you do (is that what you call them?) I recently got a book called The Complete Idiot's Guide to Altered Art at the library. It has directions for making art pieces very similar to this one in it, except they suggest doing it in a bound hard-cover book, with every few pages cut out to leave room for your additions. I am excited to try it sometime!

Thanks, Kelsea! I do think of them as collages, although if I have a lot of words on there, I'll often tag it as a journal page. I really enjoy the process of collage and the unexpected twists & turns they take and allusions they make. Altering a book sounds like fun. If you get any of it up on your blog (once you've done it), let me know & I'll post a link!
