Puppet Show

This is the puppet show couch. It has a little hidden space behind it,
so the kids gave us a puppet show today. Bravo!

Party!

There was beautiful food aplenty.
We all sat on cushions around the food and reclined while we ate.
Yum!

Couch Scene

Last night Hannah & Steve came to babysit while I was home.
I was, in effect, one of the kids,
so I got to peek in on this happy scene.

Thread

These spools of thread belonged to my grandmother.
They were in the drawer of the sewing machine table she gave me.

Recovery

This has been my scene these past 5 days.
I thought recovery would go faster than it did, but in all, it's been a very restful experience. For me. Not so much, I think, for my husband, who may now need a surgical procedure just to buy time for his own recovery. Thanks to those of you who have contributed in preparatory conversations, childcare, snacks, visits, phonecalls, texts, well-wishes, and prayer. I feel loved.

My Little Girl

This one's from November of 2003.
I had just read Painting People in Watercolor by Butch Krieger.
It has a thorough treatment of glazing techniques & was very helpful.
You can see the grid and the layers of glaze that make this one up.

Watercolor Butterfly

I had surgery yesterday. While I recover, I'll be posting
some vintage sketches. This one's from 2003.

Picnic Table

This table came with the house almost 10 years ago. Until last week it was red and somewhat dilapidated. Eric & I sanded, hammered, drilled, and painted. Now it's all perky again! And no more splinters. My favorite part about the table design is how each section has wheels. It's easy to move around and looks very whimsical.
