sandwich boards

So this is what I've been up to for the past few days.
My fabulous little church just bought (with great external support)
a building a couple of months ago, and tomorrow we're having
an open house to invite our neighbors on over so they can check out
what's happening. We were originally going to order the boards
from a sign shop, but these showed up a few days ago. So we
decided to just paint 'em up. Of course, painting is something
Eric and I love to do together, so it's been great fun.
Glad they're all done, though.

You know, it was really fun! I'm not quite sure how to describe it. Probably the most *organized* event that's ever happened at the Village. Not in a bad way, though: just enough to have plenty of good food, tour guides, music, a jumping castle, and balloons at the welcome table. Weird, huh? A lot of people pitched in to make the whole thing work, but it was really a big party. There was much hanging around and chatting. It felt like a good celebration of our life with a building.

was there a good turnout in terms of the community/new people coming?

sad I missed it!

Yeah - it seems there were a few more guests than Villagers!
