I don't know if you all remember that two-week stint in June
when I was too sick to get out of bed but well enough to
watch lots of cooking and crafting shows. I had
just found the instructions for these adorable items in a
Martha Stewart magazine, so I started in on them during my
recovery phase and just finished them today. I thought they
would be mine for winter, but they were quickly adopted by
my daughter! I like them -- maybe I'll make another
pair that go higher up the arm for myself.

Did you see any instructions for one with ONLY fingertips? My fingers are always cold
ReplyDeleteHee hee! That would be so cute. Like a bunch of stripey finger puppets. I don't know if I'd be cut out for that kind of knitting, though -- very tiny!!
ReplyDeleteSo I did a little research and found an actual website called fingergloves.com. How 'bout that? Looks like they're for skin protection purposes, though, not warmth.
ReplyDeleteI love these! I am tempted to make myself a pair, but I suspect they would get torn up on my wheelchair wheels. I may have to search around for another pair of fingerless biking gloves, like I used to have.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you can find a more sturdy option out there. It's crazy how many options come up on a "fingerless glove" google search.
ReplyDelete:D finger puppets...haha...that's a great idea! I should just buy ten wool finger puppets and put them on my fingers! Wouldn't that get some stares, me with a menagerie on my hands...I could find a mouse, a bear, a cow...
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute, I could definitely use them in the office. My hands are always freezing cold, but typing with gloves is annoying.
ReplyDeleteLaelia - you would be extra entertaining! My kids would LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteDorkys - you could make a fun fashion statement at work with these, especially if you knitted them up in a few different colors! Of course, that's something I would do and then people would be teasing me for my fingerless glove fetish. Maybe just one pair. In black. Keep us posted.
